Laser sharp innovation at Zepf UK…
Pictured here is the newest addition to our measurement equipment at Zepf UK. This hand-held 3D scanner puts us at the cutting edge of machinery measurement. The scanner incorporates 11 Blue Laser crosses and captures an enormous amount of data in a fraction of the time it takes via conventional methods.
Highly accurate the scanner takes a staggering 1,300,000 measurements per second and is accurate to 0,025mm. This accuracy and measurement rate combines with it’s simplicity and portability to make it one of the most powerful measurement devices on the market today.
The video shows Louise Davidson - Design Engineer, scanning one of our exhibition displays and you can see the image, known as a 3D Mesh, being created in real time on the laptop. We then use our design software to create a highly accurate 3D CAD model of the machine or change-part.
Utilising this new process cuts our measure-up time while at the same time creating previously impossible amounts of data that we can use in our design phase.
